The 150 events will obviously overshadow it but isn't London Transport 80 years old on 1st July ?

You are quite correct, although I think understandably TfL aren't focussing on it as a primary concern - 150 years being a much 'bigger' deal than 80!

Indeed, I am aware of only one event marking the formation of the LPTB (Primarily because I'm organising it...), and that is taking place at Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire on the 6th and 7th July. It's intended to be a 'generic' celebration of London transport.
