Hi,

I wanted some advice on how I could appeal a fine on the tram.

I tapped my oyster and thought I would use the emergency fare but I didn’t realised I had already used it. Hence when I tapped it didn’t work.

There was no facilities to recharge at the station.

I didn’t have a card on me, only cash so couldn’t tap with my card either.

I was then issued a penalty because of this.

Is there any way I can appeal or probs not?

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Could you show us the paperwork you've had please, making sure that you cover up your personal details and any reference number? Are you dealing with TfL?

I don't see any grounds for appeal here – you didn't have a ticket and you were caught bang to rights. There are three convenience stores a short walk away on Mitcham Road where you could have gone to top up with cash.
