Hi. I need to travel from London to Nottingham via the passport office in Peterborough. Does anybody know if London to Nottingham via Peterborough is a permitted route on a London to Nottingham off peak return?

Yes via Peterborough and Grantham is permitted, although note that if using London King's Cross, you need to look up time restriction code 1T instead - as the 9J restriction does not apply.

Break of Journey is fine.

There's a Super Off Peak Single, London Terminals to Nottingham route "via Grantham", available at £40.80. If there's break of journey available on that (which I think there is) and the timing restrictions work for you, then a couple of those (one each way) might possibly be the cheapest semi-flexible walk-up tickets available for you.
