I need to travel up North tomorrow for a family emergency, what are my chances of successfully making the trip on Friday? I was thinking of leaving Kings Cross early before 7AM, super off peak fares are apparently valid all day on Fridays.
I live near Newcastle and have seen adverts in the station for cheap fares, as low as £34 for NCL to KGX although when my wife and I have travelled, even with railcards, we have always paid at least double that, if not a lot more.
I see though, the 06:33 train tomorrow would only be £38.20, which is probably a bit of a bargain.
There's also the 07:33 service, but this only shows up on the forum's site if railcard is added .. a bit strange
