Can I travel via Warrington Bank Quay with a ticket from Euston to Manchester?

I need to make a journey to Warrington but back from Manchester and want to do so as cheaply as possible. Getting singles seems to work out much more expensive so I was hoping to be able to make it a return some how.

I'm travelling up on Sunday and back on Monday evening so all off peak.

From a quick go on National Rail, yes, but ONLY via the CLC (Warrington Central) and NOT from Bank Quay to Manchester via Eccles.

As I suspect that's unintentional, expect arguments.

What makes you say that? London - Warrington - Manchester is a perfectly reasonable route.
