London to Hull/Leeds

Good evening all!

Long time lurker and very (very) infrequent poster here. I'm looking for a little fare advice, as I'll be making two journeys into Yorkshire soon, both being places I'm not quite as familiar with in terms of ticketing.

I will be travelling to Hull, from London, on the evening of 19/02/16 (Friday), and returning anytime after 2 or 3 in the afternoon on the 21/02/16 (Sunday).
I will then be travelling to Leeds, from London, on either the evening of 04/03/16, or the following morning as long as I arrive around before midday, returning on the 06/03/16 (Sunday) in the afternoon/evening.
I have a 16-25 railcard, and an NUS card (for extra money off Grand Central Services).

So far the best I have been able to do is:
19/02/16, 19:52 Kings Cross to Doncaster £10.65, 21:56 Doncaster to Hull £4.95
21/02/16, 14:41 Hull to Doncaster £4.95, 16:27 Doncaster to Kings Cross £7.90
05/03/16, 10:48 Kings Cross to Wakefield Kirkgate £5.60, Anytime day single onwards to Leeds
06/03/16, Anytime day single to Wakefield , 16:48 Wakefield Kirkgate to London £10.65

I'm quite strapped on cash at the moment to the lower the fare the better I guess. Happy to use loopholes, the routing guide, etc!

You're unlikely to do better than those cheap Advances on the rail.

If money's tight and you really want to save, you could look at Megabus, who also offer an extra NUS discount. Depending on the times that you can travel at and your tolerance for mutliple changes, you can get fares to Hull for as little as £4.50 on 19/02 and back for as little as £7.50 on the 21st.

For Leeds, bookings aren't yet being taken for the 6th (their booking horizon currently ends on the 5th). For the outward leg though tickets are currently as cheap as 90p!

I thought this might be case but I thought it was worth asking anyway!

I've had a look at the megabus fares and I must say I'm tempted - thanks for pointing them out... 90p is very *very* attractive indeed!
