London to Glasgow by train? quickest by plane?

"Paul Tuohy and Norman Baker from Campaign for Better Transport today raced from London's Piccadilly Circus to George Square in Glasgow, with Paul travelling by plane and Norman by train. The two arrived within two minutes of each other, with Paul just beating Norman."

Does anyone know the details of this experiment?

Because many people live in Piccadilly Circus and will start a journey from there...

Should make it more realistic and start a race at a neutral station where typically someone might be travelling to Scotland from and will have the option of flying or train.

At least they didn't start the race at Kings Cross like the one earlier in the week (where the plane still beat the train, even with the handicap of going Luton - Glasgow)
