london to essen (deutschland) next week

If you wanted to do the above next week (out tue or we'd, return fri) what sites would you use to book?

Would it work out cheaper to 'split' at Lille or Bruxelles? No time or operator preferences.

Can't see any reason to split at Lille as there isn't a direct Lille-Germany service. Only question is whether Eurostar plus Thalys (can be booked on Thalys website if there's a through Brussels-Essen train) is competitive with DB's London Special already referred to.
