I went yesterday to Calais on a day trip using the £22 return ticket, here is my report. I got to Upminster station and asked for a return to Calais showing them a picture of the ticket and what it looked like they then found it on their computers and printed it, I then boarded the 10:29 C2C I think? To west ham where I changed onto the DLR to Stratford international where I spoke to a member of rail forums but he didn't give me his name so I got on a faversham train with them and changed at ebbsfleet and thought the ashford train went from the same platforms as the faversham train how wrong was I, I then had to go through two more barriers and a ashford train came which I boarded and changed there for a Dover priory train.Got I Dover for the P&O bus they didn't want to accept my concession bus pass so I jumped in a taxi as they took debit cards got off at Dover then checked in for the 14:40 ferry to Calais while waiting I met a nice lad called Ian who I spent my time with the 14:40 got delayed until 15:30 but once we were on the ship we had a great laugh we got to Calais about 17:00 then walked the 15 mins into town, Ian went to buy cigarettes and I went with him then we went into a French restaurant and had food we then got to the port at 20:00 hoping to catch the 20:30 which we made JUST then when we got back to Dover Ian run me up to Dover priory there I caught the 21:40 to Stratford international and then got a DLR across to west ham and it was a mad dash to get the c2c as I only had 2 mins for the connection I then jumped in a taxi back to my house but ended up leaving my mobile in a taxi! Glad I have find my iPhone so I sent a message to be able to find it. If anyone wants any more info feel free to comment x
