Evening folks . I’m due to get a return from London to Brighton tomorrow. Don’t know the line. Victoria and Blackfriars are equally easy to get to from home. Does anyone have any advice please on the better station to get a train from please, in terms of training frequency and cost. Thanks so much .

Ps I’ve just seen a similar but different post - engineering works don’t affect the line tomorrow do they?

I’m considering travelling from London to Brighton in the next few days too. Generally speaking Thameslink trains from Blackfriars would be cheaper than Southern services but takes a little longer. There is a catch if you use a split ticketing website to get cheap advance singles to Brighton but I think this is only available up to 6pm the day before

If you simply want a ticket which is straightforward and cheap, a Super Off Peak Day Return from London Thameslink to Brighton routed Not Underground is £13.20. There are no time restrictions tomorrow.

London Thameslink is a group that includes London Blackfriars, as well as London Bridge, Elephant & Castle, City Thameslink, Farringdon and London St Pancras, so you can choose from any of those.

There are generally more through trains between Brighton and London Blackfriars than London Victoria but the spacing is more uneven. Some more of the journeys to London Blackfriars include a change at East Croydon.

Blackfriars trains are diverted to avoid London Bridge so Victoria would be much faster.
