London to Bedford

Hi, I'm trying to get to Bedford tomorrow.

I can't figure out what would be the fastest/cheapest/best route.

I know there's some options of rail replacement buses at Luton.

There's also the option of Euston to Milton Keynes and a bus.

I'm coming from Farringdon so I usually just get Thameslink direct.

I would prefer trains over buses where possible.

Go via Bletchley and Marston Vale line?

If you want to go via the Midland Main Line it would involve a bus from Luton (RRB or MK1).

If you go via the East Coast Main Line your options are:

• Train to Stevenage then bus 9A/9B/9D (2bph)
• Train to Sandy then bus 72/73 (1bph)
• Train to Biggleswade then bus 73/74 (1bph)
• Train to St Neots then bus 905 (1bph)

Via the WCML, your options are:
Train to Milton Keynes then bus X5 (2bph)
Train to Bletchley, Train to Bedford (1tph, 2 Car)

@SquareAcross. Welcome to the forum! If you do decide to travel North from Farringdon using Thameslink, you'll only get as far as Luton by rail tomorrow. Should be a rail replacement bus service to Bedford beyond Luton, as @Trainguy34 mentions, albeit with extended journey times. BTW, just how essential is your journey?
