At weekend I'm doing meldeth to London but need to get to Blackfriars. I don't want to by a travel card so would a single Meldreth to London terminals be valid to Blackfriars via farringdon.

No, you can't use a London Terminals ticket to alight at or pass through Farringdon on Thameslink.

A Meldreth to London Terminals ticket would only be valid to Old Street, Moorgate or Kings Cross, ie not valid to Blackfriars. You can however purchase a point to pointticket from Meldreth to London Blackfriars, route City Thameslink, which will cost a little more than the London Terminals ticket rather than shell out for the Travelcard.
