London Terminals query

I'm looking at a journey from London to Littlehampton. I'd like to travel from St Pancras on the way out (changing at East Croydon) and return to Victoria (direct) on the way back.

I can see two tickets of interest:

SVR London Terminals-Littlehampton (£23.65 after Railcard)
SVR London St Pancras-Littlehampton(£23.65 after Railcard) (routing Not Underground)

I've not found the information on NRE particularly useful but it seems that I can't travel through Farringdon on the Terminals ticket, so that one wouldn't be valid from St Pancras. But since the tickets are the same price, do you think I can buy the Terminals one and get a zero excess at St Pancras on the outbound segment so that I can go from there and avoid paying a Tube fare to get to Victoria?

Not a good idea if you want to exit hassle-free at Victoria on the return.

When travelling from stations between Bedford and Kentish Town to London tickets give the destination as 'London Thameslink'. From the south tickets use 'London Terminals' as the destination.

Yorkie's suggestion is a very sensible one.

Thanks, that's a really good one actually. Means I can get the Tube from St Pancras too, if I prefer.

Indeed. London Thameslink is available as a destination only (not an origin) and only for stations on the Thameslink route as detailed above by hadders.

(And it wouldn't include Victoria either!)

"London ThameslinK" is similar to "Manchester Ctlz", which is also a destination only, from stations in the GM area

Sorry, but that is wrong. London Thameslink is available as an origin for tickets to (Thameslink) stations to the north of London.

They are now available as the origin, although I believe previously they were not supposed to be issued as the origin, so instructions may have changed.

Although when I purchased a ticket from my local (VTEC) ticket office for London-Bedford it was issued from 'London Terminals'.

All fares from West Hampstead to Littlehampton are routed ANY PERMITTED and have a Maltese Cross - shouldn't the ticket just operate the ticket gates automatically with no hassle?

Of course, but I don't see what that has to do with a "London Thameslink" ticket.
