I'd like to travel from London - Poulton-le-Fylde early on Thurs 21 July (probably departing Euston at 6:17) and return mid-afternoon. I have a 16-25 railcard, but can't work out whether I'm allowed to buy an off peak return using Virgin's railcard easement.
Red Spotted Hanky/My train ticket/Southern all say off peak is fine.
NRE/TPE/Virgin all say I need an anytime ticket.
However, I made the same journey once before, and Virgin sold me an off peak ticket at the ticket office on the day.
Any ideas? Thanks

(a ticket the other way round would mean you'd have to wait for an off-peak time, as the restriction states that it is only Virgin who will honour the ticket at peak times)
