London Midland Unit at Levenshulme?

Anyone know why there's a London Midland Unit, think it was a 323 doing at Levenshulme, on the left going into Manchester?

Just spotted it on my way up towards Bolton :s

323 going to Longsight for tyre turning seems perfectly plausible, they go there pretty often, used to be CE but that seems to have fallen out of favour in recent years.
