London Midland trains at Preston station

[Chrisbolton]

Hi there

I went through Preston station a couple of weeks ago and yesterday. Both times there has been a London midland train there. Anyone know why?

Crew training for upcoming use of 350s with TPX on the Manchester to Scotland route

AH right, thanks.

Will the new trains run from Manchester via Bolton?

Eventually... but I don't think that route will be electrified just yet.

There's a thread (or a few threads, probably!) on electrification where it's all explained. (If the forum search won't find it, try a Google search specifying site:railforums.co.uk)

No, from Manchester via Eccles and Wigan. (The Bolton line won't be electric until 2016.)
