London Midland Ticket Office proposals

Does anybody know whats happening with this situation? Seems to of all gone quiet. Have any of the staff been made redundant?

I'm not sure whether the changes have been made or not...

I know the plans were for Hamstead to only be open til about mid-day. That seems to be the case at the moment, thing is the staffing levels there had gone up the bracket before LM announced any changes, so its hard to tell...

It's a pain in the arse too seeing as there isn't as much as a permit to travel machine any more and on a few of occasions when I've planned to pick tickets up from the office and its been closed, I've been told off by some guards for not buying a ticket that I can then get refunded - although I haven't actually been made to buy one and some guards were happy enough with the confirmation email.


I did tweet them about it the other day and was told they were looking into installing a TVM there as part of the staffing review, so perhaps it hasn't been carried out yet...

Yeah Loads of Ticket Offices have been closed lately, Especially on the evening. Think this is because they are short staffed and they are being moved anywhere and everywhere to be used to London Midlands best advantage! Poor staff.

As for TVM (Ticket Machines) there a long time comming.

Im wondering if all of the staff are still at risk of redundancy? Have the DFT Agreed to these horrid proposals?

Here, we've heard nothing. LM have just advertised for our two booking office and chief clerk vacancies here, because our hours aren't being touched.

I don't think there will be a need to make people redundant as the staffing level right now is, in a lot of cases, below what the new hours would be. I've seen the emails from control about station closures, and around 12-15 on any given day have to close in the afternoon because there's no late turn. It's been the case in the two years I've been in it, if not before that: If someone leaves, they don't get replaced.
