LM's sale site appears not to be offereing any sale prices for travel beyond 15 January - despite para 2 of the T&C saying travel may be made up to 12 weeks hence.

2.Tickets can be purchased for travel between 27 December 2011 and 15 January 2012. Travel can be up to 12 weeks after the purchase date, subject to availability

Have reported via Twitter to LM, who have in turn reported the problem to the website manager.

Will advise when I hear more.

I can see how you read it, but I read it as:

Tickets can be purchased,
for travel between 27 December 2011 and 15 January 2012

with the 12 weeks just meaning that some fares for the end of the promotion won't show up at the start of it...

I agree that LM make it quite clear that the travel must be within those dates (Dec 27 - Jan 15).

Seconded. If it had meant any purchase within those dates it'd've been:

"Tickets can be purchased between 27 December 2011 and 15 January 2012. Travel can be up to 12 weeks after the purchase date [etc]"

The "for travel" bit refers to the dates, not the tickets (all tickets are obviously for travel, so that would be a silly thing to say).

Anyway, LM twitter person reads it the same as me. As I said, will advise when he/she gets back to me.

If tickets are only available for travel between 27th December and 15th January, there is no way you can travel 12 weeks after purchase unless they were on sale in October so that clause would be redundant. This would suggest that the OP's reading of the terms is quite reasonable. Or whoever drafted the T&Cs didn't think about what they were writing.

Or, they're typical terms carelessly copied and pasted from another promotion.

Hello all,

Thanks for your comments about the online sale.

We did have some Advance tickets available up to 12 weeks in the future, but these have all been snapped up, so in the interest of clarity I've changed the Ts and Cs.

Hope that's ok.
