Heard on the grapevine that London Midland's recent trail of 110mph running from Crewe to Lancaster was scrapped at the last minute because the 350's are not cleared for running north of Preston.
Network Rail knew all along and waited till train crew and train was basically ready to go.

Well then the blame should be on Network rail.

Are the units physically out of gauge north of preston is it down to paperwork.?

Unlikely, TOC's and ROSCO's know exactly where their units are route cleared for as it's on the unit certification paperwork.

To be fair, LM should have been checking themselves, it isnt just down to NR. The NRAP certificate for the 350s should have been updated to account for this.

Well then the blame should be on Network rail.

Not really, if LM have bid to run a train when its not passed thats their issue. We wouldn't try to run one of ours into a platform where they are barred or on a jolly off the network without double checking all the lot.

London Midland applied for track access for the weekend of 8/9th Oct, but within a possession. The consultation ran for a month up til 3rd Oct, and NR show the consultation as complete.
