Apart from the st albans abbey branch, are they still used? I have not seen them north of milton keynes for some time now!
Is there still a northampton peak only run with them?

As well as the single unit on the branch, 2 pairs were diagrammed earlier this year when I saw some diagrams, unfortunately I can't link to them.

Both pairs basically ran in the peaks only, one unit did these services:

0712 Bletchley - Euston
1805 Euston - Northampton

The other did:

0620 Milton Keynes - Euston
0728 Euston - Watford Jn
0755 Watford Jn - Euston
0824 Euston - Milton Keynes
0947 Milton Keynes - Euston
1714 Euston - Tring
1800 Tring - Euston
1854 Euston - Milton Keynes

smashing. Thanks for that. Any idea if they ever reach walsall these days? I remember whipping one in there once but was before the 350's took over their remaining work!

They still do two afternoon peak workings usually, and they did last week.

413+415 still SL. Anything north of Northampton is now very rare.

Think todays units were 412+415 and 411+417, 416 Branch.

The "last Walsall" was 414, Dec 08 timetable change was it? Somewhere I've a couple of phots, one of Virgins Finest produced window labels as he was bored at work beforehand - they made Euston...

Would love to see one on the London to Birmingham or Crewe Services, makes it very intresting to take an photo or film

That would cause major problems coupling the 321 to a 350 at Northampton
when the Crewe & Birmingham trains combine every hour. :D

Think the diagrammers would make sure that would not happen now.

Only combine on Saturdays. M-F its an extra 4/8 coaches added at NMP, with the exception of the 1550 and the 1750. On Sundays an extra four coaches *in theory* are attached/detached at NMP for each Crewe service, but what ALWAYS happens because LM are a useless bunch of morons who can't be trusted to run a decent service, is they run 8 cars to NMP, terminate it there and get everyone to trudge over to the island to get on a 4 car there.

Totally and utterly useless.

Oh and 321s will never get beyond NMP now anyway, so stop fantasising. Only Northampton crews sign them, so that limits them to Northampton - Euston and Northampton - Birmingham. They're not allowed past Rugby anymore.
