London Midland 153 @ Huddersfield

I saw a London Midland 153 coupled to a Northern unit stabled at Huddersfield last night (27/04/11 @ 22.15) anyone know what it was up to?

Yeah its around the network at the moment on loan, should have it quite a while. It cant work by itself though as it doesnt have somewhere "safe" (in Northerns opinion for a wheelchair ramo to go. Its an ok set having worked it myself.

I belive that recently it has been on the leeds to wakefield westgate via bradford halifax and huddersfield.

DfT have allocated Northern one extra carriage for use on the Cumbria coast. They are using their existing 153s to make that extra carriage on the Cumbria coast and the LM 153 to cover the shortage of a 153 on existing diagrams.

The extra 153 is permanent. However, that particular 153 is only subleased at present so it could be taken away with another 153 taking it's place.

153366 is the onhire unit, not bad unit to be honest, seems to be staying there for a while, 150285 has returned to ATW but 153366 is replacing a 153 which is normally joint onto a 155 on the East side (Selby-Man Vic-Hudds-Leeds)

I had the LM set yesterday Leeds-Mirfield via the Caldervale tour, it was in middle of a trio of 153's with 352 & 363.

Saw 153366 & 153358 arrive into Sheffield at about 6.15pm today.
