London Liverpool Street to Manningtree?

Hi All. Could someone advise the comparative cost of (i) the most appropriate (i.e. cheapest) day return from Boundary Zone 6 out to Manningtree and back, against (ii) the combination of a day return from Boundary Zone 6 out to Chelmsford (and back) together with a discounted day return from Chelmsford onwards to Manningtree (and back).

Planning on travelling on the outward journey on the 0930 (Mon - Fri) service from London Liverpool Street which I believe calls at Chelmsford at 1002 and then at Manningtree at 1033. No fixed times for the return journey (same day), but obviously, if I split tickets at Chelmsford, I will need to make sure that it's a service that does call at Chelmsford.

N.B. Have an All Zones "Gold" Travelcard (Brighton Line to R1256) which allows discounted travel on certain other Network routes, but only after 1000, I think.

Any other ticket splitting combination suggestions also welcome. (Colchester?)

Boundary zone 6-Manningtree cheap day return £19(no discount before 10:00, outward portion valid from 09:30)
If you can use the 10:00 from Liverpool St, you will get a discount on the through ticket, which will bring the cost down to £12.55

How do i find out where to split tickets to get cheaper journeys, is there anywhere online.

You can use ticket booking sites but it can be very time consuming.

Avantix Traveller makes it much easier.

You can pay a small admin fee of £9 + P&P + VAT for a CD from TSO, or, well, google it.

The latest version is NFM05.

Thanks for the replies. N.B. Reason for getting the 0930 is the timing of onward bus connections from Manningtree.
