London - Leeds, January 25th

I'll be needing to make a trip from London to Leeds on Saturday 25th of January and returning on the 26th with a YP railcard.

Whilst very flexible on times, operator and changes, I ideally need to be in Leeds around lunchtime and then returning on Sunday mid afternoon.

So far I am unable to beat the tickets below from East Coast website. Im certainly not ticket expect but would love to get it cheaper if possible:

10:03 Kings Cross - Leeds 12:25 = £19.75
14:05 Leeds - Kings Cross 16:43 = £19.75

Well, there are a few £14.60 tickets available early Saturday and late Sunday on direct trains.

If you would rather stick to the times you have given above, if you search for London to Leeds via Outwood, you will find a departure at 0930, connecting onto a Northern service at Doncaster and arriving at Leeds at 1214, which is available for £14.60

You may also be interested to know that on Sunday, you can get First Class for £23.10 at reasonable times, as early as 1645 from Leeds and arriving King's X at 1920.

But you better be quick.

£5 on the 0703 & 1203 London - Leeds, though not on your preferred train.
£5 on the 1605 Leeds - London, again not your preference but only 2 hours later.
