I know about tickets to London International for connectional purposes into Eurostar services and have personally used them - however I have heard that they are also valid with rail-sea-rail tickets via Harwich and the Hoek.

Can anyone confirm this?

Also, and this is where it may get complex, there are four people travelling in our party 1x safeguarded rail employee, 1x non safeguarded (TOCNE) rail employee - me, & two normal members of the public. All travelling down from Scotland via London to connect with the ferry to the Netherlands.

Now assuming that we can use tickets to London International to get us down from EDB to KGX what would be required for onward travel to Harwich on the boat train?
The "safeguarded" chap would be travelling on a free box from EDB to HPQ, and I've been told that the non rail staff can travel on the strength of their ferry booking from any NXEA station inc. London Liverpool Street. Do I need a separate ticket for the boat train or does my International Free Coupon for StenaLine BV -Harwich-Hoek van Holland cover me also.

Finally is it permissible to break the journey at Manningtree to partake of ale at the station buffet?

Thanks in advance,

Cheers

I'm not 100% certain but I think LNE [London International] is used on the domestic leg of a through journey [via London] involving an international destination/origin so that the domestic leg comes under CIV regulations as opposed to NRCoC, so in theory yes would be the answer.

As for the break of journey at Manningtree that would depend on the ticket type for the "normal passengers" and the T&Cs of your Rail Passes.

Apologies if this isn't the info you are looking for.
