London heritage routemasters buses

I See from a bus website the route of the number 9 routemaster service has been exetended westwards, it now starts at Kensington, Addison Road, then Ken Hi St, onwards to Traf sq and no longer ends at Aldwych. Does anyone know where in Addison Road this starts from, is it near Kenny O Stn? Tks

Interesting! Says it runs Kensington High Street, Addison Road to Trafalgar Square, Cockspur Street. If the former is correct the map suggests that it turns well before Olympia station. Wonder where it does turn then? Pity it does not now go along the Strand.

I wonder if they are terminating in Cockspur Street owing to road works, I think the 15 Routemaster still Starts at Traf square. Coming from the west and going toward the City I used to change from the 9 to 15 opposite Charing Cross Station, now I guess, I have to walk past Traf Square. I am glad that they have bought the western end starting point to the Kensington area, hopefully that will mean more people will use it, the bus stop at Ken High St opposite the underground station is always busy and the 9 & 10 regular services are often full, so this will relieve some of the presure. Hopefully I'll what it's all about later this week.

The change occurred from 13 November, the turn at Addison Road is via High Street Kensington- Holland Road- Addison Crescent- Addison Road- High Street Kensington. First EB stop "W".

Oddly, the short tripping buses on routes such as the 10, 391 mark the same turn as: "Kensington Holland Road".

Hallo, Friday's trips on both the routemasters went well St0p W is only about five mins from Kensington Olympia Station, both routes were quite full, especially the 15, which was in an unusal livery, red, black white & silver top. Rgds Steve.

That would be RM1933, the livery is pseudo 1930s London General Omnibus. RM1933 was originally painted in this livery in 1983 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the formation of London Transport. at the time she was allocated at Chalk farm garage. This vehicle (apart from the one i own is my favorite Routemaster). If i win the lottery i am sure Stagecoach would be willing to let it go!

Tks for info, I thought that it may have been espcially painted to celebrate something or other.

What do you use your RM for?

I think it was wrong to get rid of them, especially as they have years in them, they could easy be used in tandam with more modern buses for people who need wheelchairs and buggies, (Although anything that stops buggies and skate boards etc on any kind of public transport is a good thing IMO.)
