I'm sure I'm not the first person to watch Leanne Battersby in Coronation Street go to the railway station to catch the 15.55 to London Euston from platform 2 at Manchester VICTORIA! Which appeared to be formed of a Northern Rail Class 150!

And the train gained an extra stop at Watford Junction!

Since the scriptwriters obviously bothered to find out the times of the trains (hence, 15.55, rather than 16.00) - why couldn't they film this scene at Piccadilly station, and not at Victoria? Although good on Northern Rail for making their departure screen show "London Euston via" as the destination!

I thought I saw "Watford Junction" on that list...

This has already been discussed here. Leanne's non-departure has been ridiculed thoroughly, and will probably continue to be for a while.

In the days of FNW, DMUs ran from Victoria to Euston, and EMUs Man Airport to Euston via Sandbach

323s?

Urgh. All the way from Manchester to London on one of those things... or are they of a better quality than their Birmingham counterparts?

Or have I got the wrong end of the stick here?

They used the former Stansted Express 322s on the Manchester-London service. 322484 was painted into North West Trains livery.

Does anyone have any links to the London train in Corrie - all I can find on Youtube is the tram crash (and the less said about that one, the better!!!)

This video will be of some help; skip to about 4:30. I haven't checked the whole thing so I don't know if Leanne's ticket purchasing and the like is shown.

And it is definitely a 150. My bad
