London Day trip

Hi guys, I've got a quick question about fares/travel cards for london. My other half's family is coming to visit at the weekend and we want to go into London for the day this sunday (I've planned a lovely sightseeing trip!) Anyhow, we want to travel from Chelmsford and I think a zones 1-4 travel card would be suitable. There is the three of them and myself and my partner (we 2 get free on GA and priv otherwise), is there any kind of group ticket available? I've had a little shifty and the cheapest I could find was £60 something super off peak travelcard. Me and my partner both have oysters which we can use, or if there is a group travelcard that works out cheaper that is fine. So to sum up, I am after a ticket for 3x adults from Chelmsford to London including Z1-4 travel card for this sunday. Or if it works out better value the same as above but for 5x adults.
I distinctly remember last time they visited and we went into town they got some kind of group ticket, as trying to keep everyone together through barriers was a right mission!
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

You and your partner use your free GA travel and Oyster PAYG.

Outboundary travelcards are only available in Zones 1-6 format.
