Are you sure you aren't mistaking ISA with mobileye? Apologies if I've got this wrong, but I was quite certain that LTs aren't fitted with ISA.

Terminating buses have performed this manoeuvre for some time. The 279 also has a U-turn at Manor House station.
The 183 does a U-turn at Pinner (or at least it did in the days when I drove it).
I think that there is a set of traffic lights for buses performing this manoeuvre.

Don’t the 183s use a mini roundabout to turn rather than doing a U-turn? I know that the practical aspects of the manoeuvre are the same but the road markings on a mini roundabout will give some element of protection to the bus.
Just looked at Googlemaps - you are quite correct. It wasn't a mini roundabout back in the days when I drove the 183 (assuming my memory is correct!). It's a long time since I drove around there. Thanks for pointing that out. My memory is of the Bridge Street/Love Lane junction being a t-junction, but I may be completely wrong. (It was the mid/late 90s when I drove the 183).
It's been there for some years and there is a similar one in Archway Road, both perfectly safe with traffic lights.
That won't be there much longer if the proposed rerouting of the 279 to Stamford Hill goes ahead.

Christmas is a quieter time and many people are off until January 5th.
Lots of drivers take leave this time of year also. Plus as above, less patronage in general.
It’s a modified Saturday service so some Monday - Friday services operate (eg the SL6) and the 969 ran yesterday. Friday 2 January will have a normal (non-schoolday) Friday service.
Passenger demand is way below “normal” - about a fifth lower than the weeks immediately before and after. All routes still operate but some have a reduced frequency - as others have already noted demand is much reduced so this is an effective use of resources and I doubt most passengers really notice (although some services only run x20 rather than x30 in the early part of the day). A number of routes also operate school holiday schedules throughout the year - these reflect lower demand and reduced traffic levels (and hence slightly faster running times) - this is not unique to London.
It varies by train operator but as a general rule the former “Southern” lines have tended to operate a Saturday service (and I seem to recall that this was the case in BR days). This year, of course, trains to and from Waterloo are severely impacted by engineering work.
If they’re not normal days and they’re not bank or public holidays what exactly are they then??
