Having not been in London for a few years, I've been travelling around somewhat on London's buses today. Something that struck me was that on all of the 23 plate and newer vehicles I saw, the interior specification was significantly nicer with high backed seats and USB charging.

I recall a trial on an (Abelio?) Enviro 400EV a few years ago with a similar spec, but didn't realise this had become the standard. Is this something that TFL now specify on all new vehicles, or is this something that operators are doing voluntarily on new orders?

I think it was initially announced as a trial, but then since then most of their new buses have come with similar interiors
