Is Photography still not allowed here, I took a picture while standing on the escalator going down.

I was greeted by a member of staff at the bottom and was told "Photography is currently banned at this station for 6 months"

I was just using my phone, obviously no flash or tripod etc.

I can't find any mention of such a prohibition on the National Rail or Network Rail websites, and there is no mention on the "photography at stations" guidelines web page, so there is at least a possibility that the member of staff quoted was making up his own rules.

I’m fairly sure they are not passenger stops. They are “ops stops” and doors will not be released

The first shop in the Western Arcade has opened - the Hamley's that has had a sign up for a couple of weeks.

No other shops have signs yet, although there was a sign for cash machines that ended up getting hastily covered up.

Water ingress still seems to be a little bit of an issue down towards the Tube end of the Arcade, plenty of work still going on theret

Station WiFi is now live. Coverage/speeds are pretty good but unfortunately you need to go via the captive portal each time you use it.

I know flash photography is banned on underground stations to save drivers getting temporarily blinded. Not sure if it applies to only the platforms or the whole of said station.

Its probably unofficial. Years ago staff tried to prent us entering a platform at Kings Cross as we were trainspotters. We had valid tickets, were behaving ourselves and they gave no reason other than trainspotting. They even threatened to call the police so we said go ahead. Police never appeared. But I would not want to condone or do anything harmful, offensive or otherwise illegal.

I have just alighted a boxfresh 700144 working 1T13 at London Bridge P4. Quite a welcoming party!

The station departure boards were not announcing the call (either at London Bridge or any preceding station en route), but the train was very much confirming it intended to call. And it did.

Long-time lurker, first ever post!

I'm looking at the data on realtimetrains and it does appear that some services will be stopping at LBG. But can I be sure that the doors will actually open? I saw a tweet from someone today saying: "Great to see the #Thameslink train take the most direct route from #Gatwick to #CityThamesLink via #LondonBridge BUT, @TLRailUK @NetworkRailLBG what's with the secret & not advertising this? I am sitting here at LDB plat 5 & nobody getting on or off! Been waiting years for this!" ... which I guess meant no-one *could* get on or off? I don't want to risk staying on a train past Blackfriars in the morning if I'm going to end up in East Croydon...

(Also, on realtimetrains, why are London Bridge stops not in bold and every other stop is?)

That's how RTT shows that they are not publicly advertised stops.

Seems to be pot luck perhaps? It has the recipe of being a minefield now some have been allowed on and off. More and more people will expect it. If it doesn't happen people will be peed off. If it does more and more will wait to board/alight.

They will stop to pick up / set down passengers, but will not be advertised on station CIS or journey planners (not sure of the reason for this)

In case a Testing & Commissioning driver isn't available to conduct the train and it has to go via Crystal Palace.

If the stop was advertised and this happened it'd be classed as a PPM failure.

I took a Thameslink service from City Thameslink to East Croydon last night. I can confirm it was not advertised in the station as calling at London Bridge, but the ontrain systems advertised a passenger stop at London Bridge and the doors were released for passengers.

And I was interchanging between southeastern and Southern and can confirm all the electronic signs in the lower concourse said “This platform is closed” for 4&5, repeated on the platform screens above on 4&5.

Are the TL services at LB using p4/5 being CD/RA'd or are they using their in cab monitors?

I am told Thameslink drivers were recently quietly paid an extra £3,000 a year to use their cab monitors for dispatch at ALL stations, including those that had CD/RA such as Blackfriars and London Bridge. I believe the £3,000 also included being prepared to work East Grinstead & the other new routes, although only one person has told me this, whereas the use of cab monitors at EVERY station had been confirmed by all those I know at Thameslink

Yeah. I did Blackfriars to London Bridge on 1T55 last night and confirm, 'PLATFORM CLOSED' at London Bridge. Also, London Bridge not shown on the platform PIS at Blackfriars, nor was the stop announced by the Blackfriars platform staff through the tannoy. It was however on the PIS in the train and the driver explained it as an 'additional stop' just before we got moving. About 5 people got off at London Bridge, so seemed to know about it.

London Bridge stop does not show up in the official National Rail app, nor do the Thameslink departures from P4/5 show up in the departures screen in the official app although some (but maybe not all?) are showing up in the Journey Planner.

I’m sure I recall someone saying that the boards were originally put in the wrong location and that caused the crowding issues but this gate layout was very temporary but was found to work really well. It wouldn’t surprise me to see it being made permanent.

New blacked out signage has appeared above this area so I'm guessing this area is shortly to be removed. I suspect they'll regret that during major disruption
