What's happening with platform 1 at London Bridge, which has been roped off for months?

Is it simply that a reduced timetable is still operating as a result of COVID-19 and one up platform and one down platform can accommodate the Cannon Street traffic? Or is something wrong with it?

Covid-related staffing difficulties I believe, by running everything through 2 & 3 it saves having to staff platform 1 - that drives the timetable rather than vice versa.

Its back in use for all down Cannon Street services from the December Timetable Change.

It was taken out due to reduced staffing because of covid.

I've not missed it!

Unlike the "double" through platforms, there's only set of escalators and stairs up, which means the spread of passengers along the platform is far worse.

Ive always found it to be a little better.

P1 is down only so you get passengers distributed based on their preferred exit strategy. With P2/3 its random and although you get passengers along the entire platform length you never know if they are getting on/off as they are always just hanging around the platform.
