Just been on a Thameslink service to Rainham through Platform 3 at London Bridge without stopping. Signaller advised driver station is closed.

Three Bridges service held in Platform 4 with doors released.

All platforms empty of passengers.

No announcement from KICC or National Rail as yet.

5 BTP officers nearly joined the train at St Pancras International but changed their mind, or didn't find who they were looking for.

The police are dealing an incident at London Bridge.

This has recently happened and we are working on gathering more information for you.

There is also a video included in the tweet from someone on board a Thameslink train that was in platform 4 it had several police walking through train including one with a search/sniffer dog, link attached to tweet below

I'm confused? Was it closed to just Thameslink services because the platform was blocked or fully closed? Were trains from Cannon St/Charing X non-stopping?

All the platforms were empty of any waiting passengers when we passed through. Few Southeastern up services were being held in platforms.

No messaging from the SE/NR Kent side at all, but looked fully closed at platforms level.

Very interesting - they used to be very good at communication. I've noticed a reduction or maybe increased hesitance in reporting incidents recently even when they will affect travel. Example from today, no news on the train fault that seems to have blocked BH lines for long enough that there are still trains delayed.

Normally things are resolved in a few minutes or so.

Sometimes incidents happen so quickly, it is resolved before people really know what is going on

London Bridge: British Transport Police say officers were called at 6.30pm to reports of a man behaving suspiciously on a train from St Albans, and the train was stopped at London Bridge while officers carried out a full search of the train and platform as a precaution


British Transport Police say no-one matching the description was found and while officers are satisfied there is no risk to the public, CCTV enquiries are ongoing.

Because the like would be blocked if they held train there?

Where as at London Bridge trains can still be routed through the station without stopping, therefore keeping the service running?

They were responding to “Reports of a man wearing a gas mask with wires attached”….so yeah, pretty suspicious!

Run on time and hope the assumed bomber actually isn’t someone wanting to detonate a device on a moving vehicle? What would your concern be then? Rerouting trains around the explosion to keep everything else to timetable?

It doesn't matter what the excuse is, all the general public will see are delays and cancellations. If it was just a one off occasion then fair enough, but delays happen frequently for many reasons.

But in this situation, someone dressed in a gas mask and wires, were just allowing everything to go on as normal?

In essence, you’re putting reliability and punctuality above national security. Sounds like a promising idea.
