I set out for Nottingham but missed the Sheffield train

Birchwood-Manchester Piccadilly-Stockport(as I was using an RTV to book a LOT of tickets and their ticket office isn't nearly as busy and customer service is far better)-Manchester Piccadilly-Euston-Victoria-Bromley South-Ravensbourne-Shortlands-Petts Wood-Orpington-Waterloo East-Southwark-Waterloo-Marylebone-Paddington-Southall-Paddington-Farringdon-City Thameslink-Kentish Town-Old Street-Moorgate-Liverpool St-Romford-Chadwell Heath-Gidea Park-Romford-Stratford-Hackney Central-Homerton-Hackney Wick-Canonbury-Highbury & Islington-Old Street-Euston-Crewe-Manchester-Birchwood.

520 miles scored there!

I know this is late, but I suggest riding the less-popular lines like the DLR. There's also the Emirates cable car. It has an impeccable view of London.

That sounds like one heck of a day! Mine was with Nat67 so more spotter focused but this is what we did.

I know this is late, but I suggest riding the less-popular lines like the DLR. There's also the Emirates cable car. It has an impeccable view of London.

DLR is growing in popularity amongst bashers. Blindtraveller and I are big fans, and I'm sure there's others on this forum too. I sure love a trip on it, quite I want another go asap!

I am also a fan of the DLR... Always try to get the front left seat so i can pretend to be the driver

On my last few visits I haven't been able to get to the front seats. To be fair on Monday I was doing tiny leaps anyway to score units.

I always take the front right seat, so just in case the CSA needs to operate the train from the front I am still at the front as they will normally ask both passengers in those two left seats to vacate. The service control panel is under the left cover. The right panel I believe is emergency equipment etc. Only once have I seen that open.

It's easy if you start at Lewisham and wait at the extreme far end of the platform (by the furthest mirror).

Just as easy to stand on the platform at Elverson Road to be fair, keeping an eye on what's going in and out!

The emergency equipment is in a cupboard in the articulated area. The right hand is basically used for fault finding and other stuff - more an info panel with some breakers in there and they differ depending on what end of the vehicle they are on.
