Yesterday I was down in London for an afternoon meeting, so filled a couple of hours till my train back trying to find my last 508 (and 450,444,458,180,222) all without success. Heigh ho. There will always be next time.
But I did wonder if the 508s are still actually running, or if they are kept for specific times/diagrams. OK, I know my efforts are always limited to short bursts, but I have not seen one for ages.

There actually not in service down south anymore :( but they occasionally undertaken runs on the mainline to keep them in good condition.

The units that were with SouthEastern are all stored (with occasional run outs). Of the three that were with Silverlink/London Overground, I know one is stored at Eastleigh but I'm not sure if the other two are still out and about.

Sorry, yes, it's a London Overground one (303) I was looking for. Forgot about the SE ones

I believe it's 508 301 that's stored. Unless anyone else corrects me, I'd expect 302 and 303 to be in use on the Euston-Watford Jn services being DC only.

aren't the SE ones 507s though anyway?

Talking of those I have seen about...6? 507s at Stewart's Lane from a 465 on the Viccy - London Bridge, don't know what ones they are though :(

All the 507s are working for Merseyrail and always have done from new.

The SE class 508s are 201-212.

The ones at Stewarts Lane are supposed to be 203, 205, 207 & 211 according to the junction.

Whilst 508302 and 508303 are both still with London Overground, I'm not sure how widely used they are. The other week both were on Willesden. Watford runs are mostly 313s now?

All of Southeasterns's 508s have been withdrawn and can be found at Chart Leacon or Stewart's Lane. They are sent out to Gillingham Depot occasionally to keep them running incase there is a shortage of 466s or something similar.

508 302/303 were indeed still in use between Watford Junction and Euston until very recently, quite possibly still are though I have not been on the "DC" much in the last two or three weeks to have seen them.
