Been doing soma digging and whilst the FSF was discontinued in 1962 have found many pictures of FLF’s and FS’s delivered in 62 with the new fronts but never seen a picture of an FSF with new front. I believe the grills were inter changeable so wondering if any FSF were delivered with the new grill, or if any FLF’ delivered with the old grills had them replaced later in their lifes ?

As far as I can recall, there weren't vast numbers of FSF produced. I can't recall any with the newer grille that appeared on the FS and FLF.

The revised grille was introduced part-way through the 181st production sanction (FLFs) of late-1961/early-1962. Subsequent FSF production sanctions, which would have carried the revised grille, were 197 of late 1962 (34 units split between United Welsh [16], Central SMT [13], and Durham District [5]) and 215 of 1963 (11 units for Central SMT). No FSFs were constructed in the 206th sanction.

I think some United Automobile FSF6Bs had the "final" Lodekka grille style, but the picture I saw many moons ago may have been the Durham District vehicles. The grille was also fitted to the 1960s RELH6G coaches.

I had to check Rob Sly's site and the DDS ones were the final FSFs that went to the North East. On the formation of the NBC and demise of DDS, they did end up in United colours.
