Hi forum,
Thought I'd ask about the whereabouts of a particular loco. Peckett Works no. 2150, 060ST "OQ" class known as the Maerdy Monster. I used to visit Elsecar Heritage regularly and loved seeing it in steam. I know it was sold in 2020 after the Elsecar railway ran into difficulties, but does anyone know where this loco is now, its current status and future plans for it please? Cheers

An update from 4 months ago to a Flickr photo says it's at Nottingham Eastcroft
Aha, brilliant , thank you for that. Now, according to Wiki, two companies run out of that- EMR and Boden Rail. Highly doubt EMR would have purchased/loaned the Monster (can you imagine them thinking about deploying it for local services?)
So Boden Rail - who maintain 37s, 56s and 70s for Colas Rail. Wonder what they'd want with it...?

Maybe it's used as a Thunderbird for the 180s ;)

Being at a particular depot doesn't necessarily mean it's owned or even operated by the depot operator. Could it simply be a convenient storage place for the current owners?

Could well be the case! The mystery then deepens; who purchased her and what are the future plans...?
