Looks like you never got the 'normal' bunch of locos then. 403 & 411 seemed the ones I always got, brings back the days when I was 4 & in the bucket & spade brigade

If this DOES happen, I might have to consider buying a rover to go up and down the line all day all week...Several consecutive Rancid Overnighters me thinks...

That's because I probably had all of them well before the time you were 4!When I had quite a lot of those quoted, 403 & 411 were both Scottish machines - 428 & 431 were both 'normal' ones back in 1990, as 426-431 were all based at Canton (and had been since being converted to Class 37/4). Just for the record, here are the years I had them all:
1990 - 37235, 37428, 37431, 37695
1992 - 37098, 37191, 37264
1993 - 37191 (again), 37407
1995 - 37114, 37146, 37412
On rechecking, I didn't have 691 on a Weymouth - it was actually a Cardiff-Liverpool train.

For some reason, in 1991, the Weymouth was diagrammed for a Petroleum sector Class 47s, and I had 47303, 47305 and 47381 on the train during my week's South West rover.

His point is that 67s weren't passed for the WHL but they went on anyway...

Is this actually happening as I find it a bit strange that no-one else knows about it

Seems pretty accurate - I've now heard it out from a completely outside source to this forum. Also the traincrew location is interesting!

I work for FGW and have contacts in the place that know, its 100%. I also have contacts in EWS who offered the info completely independant, as Toms mentioned, the EWS crewing is interesting!!

Well we'll see won't we soon enough...

Contacts within a company telling you something means squat. Anyone remember that FGW were to stop using HSTs on the Hereford - London runs back in 2004? A meet was organised that summer pretty quickly, with quite a few attendees (never seen that many members on a HST before!). This gen had come from someone in FGW at Swindon apparently. Sounded legitimate to everyone else. I refused to believe it but a meet up one of my favourite HST routes had to be done. Great fun that meet too, although I regret not getting the power car numbers.

Point is, did this happen, even with seemingly legitimate gen? NO. HSTs run up and down the route as they did back then. Indeed, I did one off Honeybourne to Hereford last night! Believe what you want with these 37s, but I refuse to believe it will happen until the outside chances of it doing so begin.

The EWS crewing certainly IS interesting as when Arriva Northern had the set up going over the S+C, things got a bit heated union-wise over crewing arrangements!

There were fitters that worked at Bournemouth depot that didnt even know what was going on with the pigs and their jobs until someone read my website, So just because certain people dont know does not mean its not happening.

I think quite a lot of work was actually done on the WHL to open it to 66s so it was that much of a big deal for 67s. I think they have lower speed limits in some places to compensate.

Yep, but it was '05!

It's so ironic that, since then, FGW has announced plans to withdraw Adelantes altogether. However, there are now rumours that DfT are forcing FGW to keep them on (in which case, who knows - FGW may concentrate them on one particular line!). Plans do change, and the 'gen' may be accurate - from the point of view that it was the plan - at the time it was given.

I'd like to see them try to get away with 180-ing the 0544 HFD - PAD and 0643 HFD - PAD with the return 1722 and 1822 workings...

Thought it might have been 2005, glad you remember. Got told the other day it was you who said it, which was something I didn't recall.
