Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters dealt with a large train fire in Crewe at a Wistaston Road cargo depot - taking almost three hours to put it out.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters dealt with a large train fire in Crewe at a cargo depot - taking almost three hours to put it out.

The incident at a train cargo depot on Wistaston Road, happened at 10:48pm on Friday (August 19).

Two fire engines from Crewe and one fire engine form Nantwich attended the scene.

By picture it was Crewe electric depot, which has overheads across multiple lines.

In reality it took about 15/20 minutes from the first report to the fire being out. Journalistic inaccuracy strikes again.
