Locmotion & North station museum

I'm planning on going up to Darlington in a few weeks, to visit both Shildon and North Road station museum. Can anyone advise how long i need for both museums? I know Shildon-Darlington takes about 20 minutes and service is infrequent. Looking at getting the 7:51, 8:21 or 8:46 from peterborough up to Darlington, which'll get me there for 9:30, 10:12 or 10:22.

I'd give Shildon a couple of hours to stroll around- the site is fairly spread out- if you want to really take it in allow longer. As an aid to planning, arriva buses run along North road to Darlington town centre every few minutes; it's then about 8- 10 mins walk to bank top station.
