The railway to Oban has been closed by a significant landslide between the power station and Lochawe station ie not in the section protected by Anderson's piano. It slip has crossed the railway and has reached towards the A85 below which is also closed. May be some time.

Looking at the photo on the BBC News site, it appears that it did in fact occur inside the section protected by the stone signals.

Above the fallen tree I can make out some of the tall metal posts supporting the wires that are part of the stone signal system.

Thanks for posting. The BBC News article says "ScotRail also said services between Glasgow Queen Street and Mallaig were subject to delay or revision".
Why would this be the case if the disruption is on the Oban branch? Will the northbound Caledonian Sleeper Highlander be affected?

They may have to wait at Crianlarich for connecting buses serving Oban line stations (although I note that the road is currently closed as well).

Portioned services normally for/from Oban/Mallaig may well involve Oban traincrew south of Crianlarich which could potentially impact the Mallaig service
Because FW crews don't work S of Crianlarich.

There is also a report of flooding between Ardlui and Arrochar

Yes more groundworks investigation now required. Maybe not Friday now.
