Do you think we'll end up seeing the 317/315's repainted in LO livery as there is a couple of years wait for the new stock? Anything like this fictitious photoshop of a 455....

That fictitious "455" is of course mainly actually a 317- at Cambridge!

With the creation of London Overground, TfL stated that the roundel was a symbol of quality and that it would only be applied to new trains and rebuilt and refurbished stations (hence the "temporary" signs).

“When they see the Roundel people expect quality. We thought hard about putting it on the Overground. We’ll think hard about where it goes in future.”

- Sir Peter Hendy, London Transport Commissioner

You don't want pax to associate the tfl branding with worn out, old trains. Better to keep the old trains looking how they are now, with new branding reserved for new stock.

Isn't the plan that there will be some stock shuffling so that the concession starts with just 315s?

Wait... if LO is taking over the line then what'll happen to northern stations? (eg. Broxbourne, Harlow)

LO only takes over the Seven Sisters branch to Cheshunt, so I guess it's business as usual for all the others.

Will AGA still be running trains via Seven Sisters too, and will Cheshunt be operated by LO or AGA? I wonder from a staffing point of view (first to last train staffing).

Umm nothing as LOROL are only taking over existing Greater Anglia metro services to Enfield Town, Cheshunt and Chingford so services to Broxbourne and Harlow etc will still be served by Greater Anglia.

I believe AGA will still be running the via Seven Sisters trains, and that they will continue to operate Cheshunt.

Other than the Chingford and Enfield Town services that are passing to LO I didn't think there were other trains via Seven Sisters (diversions excepted) - but correct me if I'm wrong!

The Hertford East services run semi fast via Seven Sisters in the peak to free up capacity for the Broxbourne starters that run via the Lea Valley.

Isn't the plan that there will be some stock shuffling so that the concession starts with just 315s?

Not without building another dozen or so 315s ;)

What will be the stopping patterns for the AGA stuff I'll be driving in from November? Liv St ---> Tottenham Hale ---> Broxbourne and nothing in between?

No change from now - LO doesn't take over until June 2015 and there is no immediate timetable recast. None of the services via Tottenham Hale transfer across. Presumably all that happens is a separation of the Chingford, Enfield and Cheshunt workings (and the Upminster branch) from Cambridge, Hertford East and Stansted workings.

Are LO going to be buying in depot capacity at Ilford? What is the long term plan for train maintenance for the dedicated fleet. Do AGA retain access to Chingford sidings?

Yeah that's what I mean, will GA still be stopping at the 'inner' stations? Or more accurate of a question did any of the 'outers' make stops at any 'inner' stations? From June 2015 will GA services call at Tottenham Hale and then Broxbourne and never any of the 'inner' stations anymore?

I'm not totally familiar with their diagrams yet, if I am working Liv St-Hertford East will I be first stop Tottenham Hale then Broxbourne etc with nothing in between? Or will you get a situation where GA and LO services are serving 'inner' stations such as Ponders End/Cheshunt etc. That's after the 2015 LO intro.

I read somewhere that AGA drivers will still sign Chingford for the carriage sidings, so presumably this will still be needed for both operators. I also heard from GA HR that a very small AGA contingent of WA drivers will remain at Chingford, but there have been indications that these could be transferred to Liverpool Street in due course.

There's no reason or need for any particular service's calling pattern to change at all.

Remaining GA services will just call at stations rebranded as LO, if appropriate, just like SN do on the WLL and SLL etc.

The opposite situation will occur where LO services terminate at a GA station, IIRC that is Cheshunt only.

No. GA will continue to operate ALL services through Tottenham Hale, continuing to operate (or "operate" if it's Angel Road!) all stations between Tottenham Hale and Broxbourne.

LO will operate Liverpool Street to Chingford, Enfield and Cheshunt via Seven Sisters. They'll take over all stations on those routes, apart from Cheshunt.

Thanks, perhaps I need to look at what WA services actually call at stations between Liverpool Street/Tottenham Hale and Broxbourne!

I didn't realise it was only via Seven Sisters that will be LO operated though! Also interesting that Cheshunt will remain Greater Anglia! I wonder why? Thanks for the info :)

GA will probably still be the majority user on a count up of all services calling. That would usually be the main deciding factor.

Very true. Has the Cambridge - Stansted Airport AGA service commenced do you know?

Yes it has

How well is it if anyone knows? Would have been better in my view to run it as a Ely to Stansted service as then it would then become accessible to passengers changing off the Bury St Edmunds to Peterborough/Norwich to Liverpool services as well as being a cross platform interchange with the Kings Lynn to London service instead of passengers off these services having to change twice at Ely and Cambridge in the case of the former two services.

That said I do wonder if Herttford East services would ever join LOROL or if that's just wishful thinking, probably the latter though.

I think AGA hope to extend the service to Ely, and in the shorter term to introduce a Whittlesford call.
