LNWR Stool

A friend has offered to give me (I think) this old LNWR stool that was given to him by his now deceased brother in law. He has mo idea
of its provenance, thus I'm wondering whether it might have been from one of the local stations in this area (Eryri/Snowdonia).
I'm thinking Booking Office/Parcels Office/Signal box?
It's certainly been well used!
What sort of seating might have been found in small rural stations?

Such stools were common in all but the smallest stations and were used for those working at a desk, usually clerks, but booking lads might use them as well. Try a search round for ‘booking office interior’ or ‘railway office interior’ and you should find a few photos. There were still some around in signal boxes in the 1980s, but they tended not to be much used.
