Hi there, does anyone know why LNER can drop of passengers at Carlisle on the way to Scotland but can’t pick up passengers at Carlisle on the way to Scotland?

Sometimes it's so they can leave early?

I'm guessing it's because the West Coast isn't their area so they'd just be competing against the existing trains. Stopping at Carlisle, just gives people from Newcastle, Durham etc a link to Glasgow with Avanti rather than having to go on a detour to Edinburgh to then cut back across. We done it a few year back, it was a blessing in disguise, in a way.
