Friday 12 April 12.00 Edinburgh to York : Reserved seats in Quiet Coach in error. Are Coach H and the north end of Coach B still the unreserved areas, which we can head for on the day if we are quick?

The coach which has the buffet on a Mk4 set is unreserved (but lacks plug sockets). (coach H I think)
The HSTs have batches of unreserved seats throughout the train.

Otherwise look at the little reservation levels and aim for the coach which seems to have the less reservations showing (so probably towards the front of standard, coach F

As above coach H on electric Mk4 trains is unreserved (unless needed due to a set swap or short formed train) and on diesel HST trains there are seats scattered throughout the train and no dedicated unreserved coach.

Usually departure boards will feature a little pictogram which will show reservation and occupancy levels so studying the departure board may reveal any coaches which have a low level of reservation and low occupancy.
