First time buying a rover at KGX from a TVM and the date boxes portion lists it's valid in conjunction with Rover -00001... Whoops.

And if anyone from LNER is reading this thread there’s still no Gold Card listed under railcards for an Anglia Plus Day Ranger.

Do you mean the former Network SouthEast area Gold Card (I believe that there are other products called Gold Card in various other parts of the country)? If so, I didn't know that Gold Card or Network Railcard holders could get a discount on the Anglia Plus Day Ranger, as not all of its area of validity is within the Network Railcard area.

The Annual Gold Card validity map area, whilst centred on London and the South East, is far broader than that of the Network Railcard, and includes all of East Anglia.

As far as I'm aware there is only one Gold Card and it's the one for the South East. The area of validity is extensive (see map here) covering from Exeter (via Salisbury) and Weymouth, up to Shrewsbury, Stafford and Worcester as well as all of Kent and East Anglia.

I mean the Annual Gold Card/Gold Record issued to people purchasing annual season tickets in the Gold Card Area, which as pointed out above is now larger then the Network Railcard area.

There are other Rovers and Rangers as well where this is an issue eg Thames Branches Day Ranger where (correctly) the Network Railcard is in the list of railcards but not the Gold Card.

Why does it need to be a pilot?
...
Why does the railway always take so long to do the right thing!
I know I'm replying to an older post, but working in the software industry I can assure you that it is far from unusual for issues to pop up in the pilot stage even after thorough testing by both the devs and the QA team. Oft-times it's caused by odd, unexpected combinations or sequences of actions.

One somewhat relevant example from a previous employer was an issue with an order process where if specific items were added to the basket, then removed the discount associated with that item was applied to all the other items in the basket, meaning the customer could get a signficant discount that they weren't entitled to! The real problem was that the discount didn't show up on screen - the order screen, confirmation emails, etc. all showed the full price but the lower price was actually charged to their payment method.

Needless to say they rolled back to an earlier version of the software post-haste!
