Lner trainee driver pay increases

In relation to the LNER salary and increases does anybody know the structure?

I'm aware the starting is circa 30k, but top pay is approx 70k when qualified.

Most TOCs go up after training at different points, such as after the initial classroom, then after mentoring, but does anyone know the dates / timescale ls for the increases specifically with LNER?

Was just wondering as I'm awaiting a medical and a start date and the initial pay is a pay cut for me, so would be nice to plan for how long I'll have to get by on the initial pay!

I can’t answer for all TOCs, but where I am (GWR) the training salary is until you passout. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same at LNER as £30k is quite high for a training salary to start at, and it seems those with higher training salaries listed and nothing mentioned about incremental increases are those where you’re on it throughout training. GWR’s is about £28.5k throughout which is on the higher side, but as I said, that’s until you qualify.

Yes I believe the salary is something like that, around 30k but not sure exactly what.
My friend is with East mids, his was around 35k starting and then 49k after 24 weeks.
So there is obviously a big difference between different TOCs.
Hopefully someone from LNER is happy to share!

Does that equate to £70,700 after 12 months? Meaning £29,400 for 20 weeks, the £40,400 for the remainder of the year.

Don't work for LNER but the way it usually goes is (with above figures)

29400 while training at school. This rises to 40400 once you've passed your final rules and traction. (Though not sure if there is another stage when you 'get your key' and become a train driver as opposed to a trainee train driver.

The £70k plus comes on the day you drive for the first time on your own (only u in the cab making the wheels turn!), So that's after all your route learning.

Getting to the 70+ (final salary) can be 9-18 mths depending on how quickly you progress and often how long it takes to get an practical instructor to do your 200 odd hours driving.
