With the video interview , you only get 1 and a half minutes to record your answer don’t you ?

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how difficult the LNER psychometric test is for train manager apprentices? Is the BKSB initial and diagnostic an hard test too?

Its been a long time since I left school and i know this position will be fairly competitive.

I have completed the video Interview and just awaiting the outcome emails.

Any help is appreciated.

Anyone heard anything yet for edi ?
Nope nothing so far, Realisticly should hopefully soon as the tests are booked for next week. Although fingers crossed through this current stage and the testing in theory shouldn't need to do as already have valid SCAAT, RAAT and TCT if LNER requires that to.

How did u find the scaat and RAAT. I’m new to railways but I’m cabin crew the now so not rly done this before lol. I’m qualified on so many planes so I can do testing but im just a bit confused how this is different. Ik ones wordy answers which I’m fine with but the other test I’ve not got a clue

I found myself both the SCAAT & RAAT to be fine.

https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/group-bourdon-tool.156417/ First post on this has a programe that lets you practice it as well to. For the SCAAT as others will say, got to be as accurate as possible. First part of the test just get 1 symbol to find, 2nd part: two symbols to find, 3rd part: 1 symbol is given to you, the second symbol to find is the first one, the second one changes each line.

RAAT: Reading a passage, answering questions from the passage given to you.
TCT: Did this recently, given a diagrame and information, then asked if ticket is valid or not. (Ironically this is the one i didn't think i passed, but is an enhanced test one, so no idea if LNER will do that one)

Results are out folks! I was unsuccessful.

Very gutted as i submitted a strong application and have years of experience in a customer facing role but it is what it is!

Good luck everyone i wish you all the best as the process continues for you.

Hi there - I have an assessment day with LNER in a few weeks time for an Apprentice Train Manager position at KGX. I wondered if anyone could give some advice on what specifically the day involves, or its format. Only heard from LNER that it'll contain the SCAAT and RAAT, along with an interview and 'group challenge'?

Any help would be much appreciated.
Hey! I have an assessment day next Thursday just wondering if you could let me know more about how yours went and what can I expect? Very nervous already!

Hi all :)

Found out yesterday I've been invited to the interview at Tynecastle next week.

Reading that there's quite a lot of expansion coming out of Edinburgh is good news.

From the looks of things we'll be sitting around trying to guess who's behind what username :D

Quick question for anyone who’s done these interviews before. Do we do the 1 to 1 interview on the same day as the test. Is it like a round situation or would the 1 to 1 be at a later date. I’ve seen some TOC’s do it all on the same day and I seen it mentioned so was a bit confused

The way I’m reading it is if we’re successful tomorrow we’ll be invited to the final stage which will be an interview/presentation. Maybe within a week or so! Are you morning or afternoon tomorrow? I’m afternoon slot. The nerves are kicking innnn lol

how did you find it? It wasn’t as bad as I but thought it was going to be. My head was splitting after it though. I found out I’ve passed the tests but not heard anything since

I’m the 21st!
Good luck!! I’ll let you know how mine goes since I’m first. Feeling a little deflated though as there was a few internal applicants on my assessment day, always feel they have the upper hand but what’s meant to be will be I guess lolllll
