LNER traction problems today

Some KX - Leeds services not calling at Stevenage and Peterborough today because 'more trains than normal requiring maintenance'
How does not stopping improve the situation?

Presumably they are going Load 5 with that train instead of 9 or 10 so it reduces the number of passengers onboard by omitting those stops.
