They could be online later today, which therefore would be correct.

Edit: quick look at twitter comments and they are now releasing them tomorrow (Wednesday).

When I spoke to them last week, they said the 9th as the final day for timetabling issues should be five days prior.

LNER website now updated showing Wednesday as the ‘expected’ day, as shown by the screenshot I have attached.

Spoke to someone on the customer chat and they’d said it should have been today but due to go live tomorrow.

Timetable PDFs for the 12-17 December are now on the LNER website.
I couldn't find them. Where are they shown? The 'industrial action' section of the site says that they will be put up as soon as possible and - as mentioned above - has not been updated since 30th November.

How busy have LNER v Lumo services from Edinburgh been on previous strike days ? I'm thinking Lumo has less calls to London but LNER has longer & more frequent trains.

Doesn’t look like there’s much difference between the strike/non-day timetables bar the earliest and late trains. Just going to have to hope that I can book tickets on Friday otherwise I’m scuppered!

i had a booking but that train is not running but try and change anything till friday when 100's will be trying to do the same thing. given these were announced several weeks ago its disappointing they are having to run everything down to the wire.

Thanks!

Still showing a full service between London and Leeds on Friday 16th....which can't be right on a strike day, surely?
Not now it isn't!
Except in the booking engine with "not available" throughout.

But surely that’s because NetworkRail and LNER won’t know until 5 days prior what staffing they’re able to run a service with? I agree it’s frustrating but a strike is a strike. Saying that, I did speak to a customer service agent on the chat this evening to ask what time tickets ‘might’ be going on sale from. ‘Tomorrow’. Can you be more specific? ‘No, just tomorrow.’ So, you’re going to have thousands of travellers on the site at the same time constantly refreshing their browsers and putting the site under strain because no one has an estimated time for bookings to be made from? Five minutes later I got, ‘We are aiming for 10am but it may be later.’

Someone has just replied to a tweet I sent earlier. From 10am.

It's a complex issue to rewrite timetables and staffing rosters for strikes, and it takes time. And can't be done until Network Rail can confirm what access they can provide. That's why it takes longer than you would like.

i understand its enormous burden on the industries planning community and they have been the real hero's here who probably won't get the recognition they deserve. However, by now you would have thought a strike timetable based on what NR have been able to deliver on routes on the numerous previous occasions would have been established and optimised by now so for simplicity just pull it off the shelf.

But it's not as simple as that. If it was simply putting trains on tracks it might be, but you need staff to operate trains and this is relying on contingency staff who might be available in varying numbers from one strike day to another because they have lives arranged on the basis of their normal work, rather than being operational. So, each time a strike is announced there's a big exercise to establish who is available, where, when and for which shifts. That is then used as a part of the planning process.

As i said above i appreciate its far from straightforward hence the planning and resourcing communities deserve medals but in the least ought to get recognition payments Thing is though LNER have released revised timetables for all six days pre Xmas affected by strike rather than a day at a time as they worked through the plan and resourcing for each day. Anyhow the timetable is up and im grateful for those that are doing there best to deliver some level of service.

It's never that simple unfortunately. Strike timetables fall outwith the normal processes for biannual timetable changes and engineering work alterations. The process for 'ad hoc' changes (TOVR) needs to be used - but it's not designed for completely rewriting the timetable at 2 weeks' notice. And it shows.

Email received stating LUMO 0924 from Edinburgh on Weds 14th is cancelled ?? Bit odd as they are not involved in industrial action and online that service is still showing as bookable.

Lumo and the other open access operators (and TOCs without guards) aren't on strike. But they are still subject to the limitations of the RMT strike over at Network Rail. Amongst other things, this means that on strike days, the timetable is produced by means of cancelling all trains, and then adding additional services to reflect what will run.

Hence the 09:24 service has been cancelled, but has now been added in again as it is one of the trains that will be running.

The whole thing is far from ideal.

It might be a 'false' cancellation due to a new schedule appearing for it. Realtime Trains suggests that they have cancelled all of their scheduled trains and put in a new STP schedule for the day.

Must be fun for those that have booked Advance tickets on strike days that don't get told the actual reasons !
