LNER Seating query

Good morning, all being well I shall be travelling to/from Leeds - Bradford on LNER from Kings Cross, Northbound Sun 05 Dec 12.00, returning 08.43 on 09 Dec. When I booked the tickets last night, the system said that there were only one or 2 seats left at the prices shown. I booked these and was allocated seat numbers, but when I tried to change these, the systems said I was not able to do so as these were the last seats on the trains? These are in First class using a railcard discount. I have been given K 01 Northbound which seems to have restricted view?? Does that mean I shall be looking at the train wall all the time,? if when I get on board would it be ok to sit in another seat if it is not reserved?. I think the train is diverted on the northbound journey and it would be good to see where I am going?

I have D 29, 20 on the return which I think will be fine. I think the northbound train is a 9 carriage azuma and the return is 2 five carriages azumas coupled together.

I would be very surprised if every first class seat is booked on a Sunday lunch time going North.

I've never had a problem sitting in a different seat so long as it's available, but one does hear tales!

Go to lner app, you can reserve seats with out having to buy a ticket, if asks for a ticket number just put '0000'

They have seat selector as well, so you can change to where u wish to sit.

Reason won't allow you to amend your seats when you purchased is usually due to you buying the last advance tickets at that price.

Hi thanks for that, however, I think there must be some thing odd with that train at the moment, I just tried your suggestion, thought it was going to be ok and possible, but it came back with this message: "We're sorry, there are no seat reservations left on this LNER train, if you'd like a seat reservation we recommend you go back and select a different time or date." So it is either a really busy and full train already, perhaps because there is a limited service that day owing to engineering works/diversions, or that they have not fully loaded their seat allocations yet.

Does anyone know, if Seat K 01 has a total no view/full wall panel, or if it has about 1/2 a window. Part of the pleasure of a rail journey for me is to look at the views as we travel along the lines.

Unfortunately K1 will be a total blank wall.

What I would say, is if you can try and be the very first to board the train, coach M will have a few unreserved seats highlighted green. M4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
